The 6th Steering Committee of the ECOFISH Programme was held in Gaborone, Botswana, on May 15. It was chaired by the Southern African Development Community (SADC), in the presence of Mr. Catalin Gherman, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Botswana; Mrs. Alice N’Diaye, Director at the General Secretariat of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC); and representatives of the African Regional Economic Communities (RECs).

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) will convene an Inter-Ministerial Task Force Meeting of Ministers responsible for Trade, Transport, Infrastructure, and Security Matters to address challenges at the Kasumbalesa Border Posts between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Zambia. In a significant step towards bolstering regional disaster preparedness, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Humanitarian and Emergency Operations Centre (SHOC) in Nacala, Republic of Mozambique, on 28th March 2025 hosted His Excellency President Daniel Francisco Chapo of Mozambique and His Excellency President Advocate Duma Boko of Botswana.
